Editorial Policy

This policy explains how FoundrList selects products for editorial coverage, verifies time-sensitive claims, labels sponsored placement, uses machine assistance, and handles corrections. It applies to our articles, guides, rankings, and comparison pages.

1. How products are selected

Editorial recommendations begin with the reader's use case. We consider audience fit, the completeness and freshness of public product information, category relevance, pricing or platform data when verified, and whether the product adds a meaningfully different option.

A FoundrList submission, vote count, or paid placement does not by itself mean that our editors recommend a product. We do not describe database popularity as objective quality or claim hands-on testing unless that testing actually occurred.

2. Sources and verification

For time-sensitive claims, we prefer official product websites, documentation, pricing pages, founder announcements, and other primary sources. FoundrList listing descriptions and launch notes are submitted by makers unless an article says otherwise.

When pricing, availability, or competitor rules materially affect an article, the article states when the information was checked and links to the relevant source. If a fact cannot be verified, we omit it or identify the limitation plainly.

3. Rankings and sponsored placement

Paid placements are labeled as sponsored, promoted, featured, or premium where they appear. Payment may purchase visibility, but it is never presented as independent editorial merit.

Recommendation order follows the stated evaluation criteria and the reader's needs. Where another platform or product is a better fit for a particular reader, our comparisons say so. Launch boards are ranked as described in our Terms of Use.

4. Machine assistance

Automation may help structure public database fields, identify missing information, or prepare drafts for human review. It must not invent product capabilities, customers, revenue, ratings, founders, quotes, pricing, or testing experience.

The founder's submitted description remains the source record. Machine-readable Markdown and feeds are generated from the same eligible public records and omit private account and payment information.

5. Corrections and updates

Founders, readers, and product teams can request a factual correction by emailing support@foundrlist.com with the article or product URL, the statement in question, and a primary source that supports the correction.

We review material corrections, update the public page when the evidence supports a change, and do not present uncertain claims as facts. Product owners can also update their own public listing at any time through their FoundrList account.

6. About this policy

"We" means FoundrList, as defined in our Terms of Use. Questions about this policy: support@foundrlist.com.
